Albert Barqué-Duran, PhD (ES), is a cognitive scientist, AI researcher, and artist exploring cognition, creativity, and ethics in Human-AI interactions. He is the Lead Research Scientist at IASlab, La Salle Barcelona (Ramon Llull University), coordinating graduate programs in Creative Technologies. He holds a PhD in Cognitive Science from City St George’s, University of London, with research appointments at Harvard and Oxford. With over 20 publications, his academic work spans computational cognition, decision theory, and moral philosophy. Concurrently, he leads experimental artistic research practices and cultural programs (immersive installations, performances, creative technologies, aesthetic experiences) to address speculative questions on creative agency and alignment, altered perception and extended cognition in Human–AI interactions. His work has been presented globally at venues like NeurIPS, SIGGRAPH, Ars Electronica, and Sónar+D. He has received numerous honors, including the ‘Creative Europe Program’ award (naming him a “Culture Activist”) or the ‘Runway – New Media’ Award.
