Andrew Herzog (US) is an interdisciplinary artist whose media-independent practice explores the constructed boundaries between humanity and nature. In doing so, he examines the perceived liminal space between human and nonhuman life across personal and species-specific temporalities. Fatherhood and caregiving have increasingly shaped his artistic practice and influenced his exploration of masculinity and its role in demarcating human life from nature, traced through lineage, history, and the ecological conditions of the Anthropocene. Drawing on his background in creative technology and design, he develops accessible formal and conceptual languages using familiar materials and circular methods. His projects invite audiences to rethink their relationships with one another and with nature.
