Deepti Dutt Srinath

Writer and Visual researcher @ www.deepti-dutt.com

Deepti Dutt Srinath is an interdisciplinary researcher and designer working at the intersection of aesthetics, perception, and spatial experience. Her work spans architecture, interactive design, cognitive science, and the psychology of art, with a focus on how we perceive and engage with both human-made and machine-generated visual media.

With a Master’s in Advanced Architecture from the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC), and most recently an MSc in Psychology of Arts, Neuroaesthetics and Creativity from Goldsmiths, University of London, Deepti’s practice integrates philosophical inquiry, phenomenological methods, and visual research. Her interests lie in how cognitive and contextual factors shape our perception of authenticity, intention, and creativity, in particular, within the context of emerging technologies like AI-generated art.

Her thesis investigates audience responses to AI-generated versus human-created digital art, exploring how biases and contextual information about the “artist” influence perceived creativity and authenticity. Through this research, she raises questions about the role of intention in aesthetic judgment and how meaning is constructed in technologically mediated experiences.

In addition to her research, Deepti has worked across exhibition design, interdisciplinary education, and speculative spatial projects in India and the around the world. She continues to explore new ways to connect visual form, mental processes, and designed experience.
