Artists and researchers @ The Intangible Realities Laboratory
Denis (RU/ES) is an artist and researcher working at the intersection of technology, visual culture, and performance. He is currently a creative developer and researcher at the Intangible Realities Laboratory, where he co-develops immersive technologies and embodied experiences that bridge scientific visualization and aesthetic expression. His work includes augmented reality installations, algorithmic theater, games, and visual novels. Through themes of algorithmic bias, modern warfare, archival memory, and queering technologies, his projects aim to expose the hidden logics of contemporary systems and reimagine the politics of human–machine relations.
Luis Toledo (RU/ES) is a digital media artist and software designer and developer. With an M.A. in visual multimedia arts and an IT engineering degree, and is currently pursuing a PhD in HCI on VR. He makes use of user interface aesthetics as a medium within interactive installations, net.art pieces, and games to (re)frame interactions. At the Intangible Realities Laboratory, he designs interaction systems and tools for scientific simulation in VR and interactive installations.
David Glowacki (US/ES), PhD, MA is a cross-disciplinary researcher and artist. He is the author of more than 100 peer-reviewed publications. He has worked extensively in scientific simulation, and more recently in the use of VR to interactively visualize real-time simulations. He is the founder of the Intangible Realities Laboratory (https://theirl.org/), a group working at the immersive frontiers of scientific, aesthetic, computational, and technological practice. His work has been funded by organizations including the Royal Society, the European Research Commission, the National Science Foundation, the Philip Leverhulme Trust, and the Tiny Blue Dot Foundation. His immersive digital artworks have been experienced by more than 200,000 people on three continents.
