Duan Weibin (CN) is a professor, doctoral supervisor, and Dean of the School of Design and Innovation at China Academy of Art, where he also serves as Deputy Secretary of the School’s Party Committee. Holding a PhD in Art Studies, he has long been engaged in design education, interdisciplinary innovation, and the integration of art, technology, and industry. His academic and creative practice spans industrial design, material experimentation, digital media, cultural innovation, and future-oriented design. He is also an executive council member of the China Industrial Design Association and has played an active role in advancing design education and international academic exchange in China. Through teaching, research, curation, and institutional leadership, Duan promotes an open and collaborative approach to design, emphasizing social responsibility, technological imagination, and the renewal of design humanities. His work contributes to the development of new educational models and interdisciplinary platforms for emerging forms of art and design.
