Markus Passecker (AT) is a creative technologist, XR developer, and media artist based in Vienna. As a PhD candidate in the Visual Heritage doctoral program (USTP – University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten / TU Wien), he researches situated visualization of digitized cultural heritage: using mobile AR and MR to bring archival photographs and contested histories back to the places they came from — from Vienna’s Prater to sites of Austrofascist memory. He is a Junior Researcher at USTP’s Institute of Creative Media/Technologies, teaches in the Experimental Media program, and works as an XR/Web Creator at Fluxguide, building digital experiences for museums. In his artistic practice, biofeedback performances such as the “Trying to Be Quiet” trilogy translate heartbeat and muscle tension into physical patterns on water that can be seen and felt. His work asks how technology can reconnect us with place, memory, and the body.
