Michael Rabl (AT) is an Austrian engineer, academic, and research manager specializing in innovation, sensor technology, and product development. Since September 2024, he has served as President and Scientific Director of the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria (FH OÖ).
Previously, he was Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the FH OÖ Wels Campus (2018–2024), where he advanced internationalization, modernized infrastructure, and established interdisciplinary research laboratories.
His academic work focuses on innovation management, technology transfer, and applied research, with strong emphasis on industry collaboration and practice-oriented education. Rabl is a strong advocate of a research-driven university of applied sciences model, fostering close ties between science and business.
