Shih-Wen Huang is a Taiwanese artist-researcher, interaction designer, educator, and founder of Vibeweaving Studio, a creative research practice bridging code, craft, and cultural technology. Her work explores how generative systems can support cultural continuity without flattening lineage, authorship, consent, or community authority. Drawing from textile studies, human-centered design, computational craft, and human-AI interaction, she develops rule-based creative systems that make provenance, material constraints, and cultural relations visible. Through Vibeweaving, she translates sound, field notes, color, and pattern logic into traceable textile structures, asking how generative tools can support reciprocity rather than extraction. Her current research focuses on Productive Friction, Algorithmic Stewardship, and feminist approaches to AI, designing interfaces that slow down automation enough for people to question sources, understand structure, and make with agency.
