Simone Kriglstein

Simone Kriglstein (AT) is associate professor at Masaryk University and senior scientist at the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology. She specializes in designing and evaluating user interfaces and interaction methods in different fields, including games, VR/MR/XR, and training/learning methods for schools, universities, and companies. Simone has been deeply committed to exploring the intersection of technology, education, and human behavior to design interactive and human-centered systems. Her research has spanned multiple disciplines, including computer science, psychology, design, and education, reflecting her belief in the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration to investigate topics from different perspectives. Simone has published over 120 publications in international conference proceedings and journals. Between 2022 and 2024, she was ACM SIGCHI Vice President for Communication. In addition, she served as an organizational committee member, program committee member, and reviewer for different conferences and journals over the past years, including venues such as CHI, CHI PLAY, MUM, VINCI and FDG. Together with Michael Lankes and Günter Walllner, she organized the Expanded Summer School which is held in conjunction with the Expanded Conference during the internationally acclaimed Ars Electronica Festival in Austria.
