Takafumi Morita

Takafumi Morita (JP) is a media artist, HCI researcher, and Assistant Professor at The University of Tokyo. Liquids have no fixed form and continuously transform in response to their surroundings. Fascinated by this fluidity, he explores new forms of expression through liquids. Through his works, he creates spaces where human control and natural phenomena intersect, exploring expressions that oscillate between stability and instability, control and contingency, while questioning the boundaries between them. His major works include see-saw (Ars Electronica Festival 2022), MorphFlux (ENCOUNTERS 2025, 2026), and Entangled Liquidities (Ars Electronica Festival 2025). His solo exhibition, Mutable Liquid, was presented at lemna atelier in Tokyo in 2025. He was selected for the Project to Support Emerging Media Arts Creators by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, Government of Japan (2024, 2025), and was recognized as a MITOU Super Creator by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
