Victoria E. Szabo (US) is a Research Professor in the Department of Art, Art History & Visual Studies at Duke University, where she works at the intersection of digital humanities, visual culture, computational media, and immersive technologies. She is a founding director of Duke’s Computational Media, Arts & Cultures PhD program and has held several leadership roles at Duke including Director of the Digital Humanities Initiative, Co-Director of the Game Lab, and Director of the Information Science+Studies program. She currently co-directs the Duke-Duke Kunshan University (China) Presence Lab. Her research explores digital cultural heritage, spatial and visual humanities, extended reality (XR), media arts, public scholarship, and emerging forms of AI-enabled media. She has led numerous interdisciplinary collaborations and public-facing projects, including work in virtual heritage, geospatial storytelling, and experiential learning. Szabo also serves in leadership roles within ACM SIGGRAPH and the broader digital arts community. She is General Co-Chair for Expanded 2026.
