Xinyi Zhang
Artist and Lecturer @ Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts
Xinyi Zhang is an artist and lecturer at the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts(TAFA), currently based in Beijing. She holds a Ph.D. from the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), Beijing, and studied in the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design（HfG）, Germany. Her research focuses on artificial intelligence in artistic and design practice, working with fine-tuned diffusion models and generative image-making, and has applied this approach to cultural heritage through AI-assisted restoration of Neolithic painted pottery patterns. Her practice spans painting, video, and public art, engaging with internet culture and the aesthetics of digital life. Her exhibitions include RE-AURA at S2A Space, Seoul, and Never Break at the Art Centre, CUHK-Shenzhen. She has spoken at TEDxMacauUST (2022), and undertaken commercial collaborations with UCCA Lab × Disney, Audi, and Samsung. Her latest work, Beyond Scale (2026), was produced for the SCA-2 art satellite as part of the Xu Bing space Art Residency Program.
