Yesica Duarte (AR/AT) is an artist and HCI researcher whose work spans immersive technologies, experimental DIY body-based interfaces, and conversational AI.

She has been working with and for disabled artists and researchers, developing speculative technologies for artistic expression. Through co-creation within an inter-abled collective, her practice examines access frictions as critical sites for reimagining technology.

As a Latin American woman, immigrant, first-generation, low-income academic, and able-bodied artist and designer, her experience of navigating an inaccessible world has informed a critical inquiry into technology through sustained participation in an inter-abled collective.

She holds a Master’s degree in Technology and Aesthetics of Electronic Arts from Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero (UNTREF), Argentina, and is currently a PhD student at IT:U Interdisciplinary Transformation University Austria. Her research examines conversational AI technologies through the lens of critical technical practice, integrating technical and philosophical perspectives to explore more inclusive artistic and participatory design practices.
